Tell us about your project or wishes or let us suggest an itinerary which we think would suit you or your group!

There are many possibilities varying from day tours from one base, for example a hotel with a sauna, to multi-day hut tours where we sleep in mountain huts or even outdoors in sleeping bags!

From beginner to expert

Whether you're an experienced climber looking to conquer new challenges or a beginner eager to learn the ropes, our customized alpine climbing experiences offer the perfect blend of excitement, safety, and breathtaking scenery.

The quiet places

There are a lot of amazing alpine climbs just next door to Engelberg. If you’re looking for exciting and beautiful alpine climbs with less other people around, you’ve got it here!

The classics

If you’re interested in 4000 meter peaks, Switzerland is the place to be with its whopping 48 peaks which reach above that altitude. There we’ll find an adventure for anybody. Maybe you want to climb a bit more challenging alternative route to the top? Or if the normal route is what you want, we’ll do that!

Guide to guest ratio

On the challenging climbs the ratio is 1:1, one guide, one guest. On moderate climbs we can have 1:2. On technically easy tours we can have even up to 6 guests per guide.

With customized alpine guiding you will benefit from:
  • Personalized itinerary
  • Expert guiding

When?

The alpine climbing season starts in the beginning of June. There are routes that are usually in best condition early in the season, for example Biancograt on Piz Bernina or other similar routes that need a good snow coverage.

When the summer progresses the snow melts and we can start climbing high altitude rocky ridges which are now free of snow. For example, Weisshorn north ridge.

Towards the autumn the weather gets cooler and less prone for thunderstorms which we like! Autumn is an unbelievably beautiful time to do alpine climbing and there tends to be less people around. As always, we stay flexible and see where the conditions are best and head that way for an adventure!

We can climb even in October still. At this time of the year, we tend to move to a bit lower altitude and enjoy rock ridges and alpine multi pitch routes. Climbing never stops!

Where do you guide?

In the Alps and Norway. December-February I’m mainly in the vicinity of Engelberg since it’s so good here but I do some trips to other places and resorts in the Alps for freeriding and ski touring during this time as well. March-May during the spring season I’m guiding multi-day ski tours in different places, e.g. Urner Haute Route, Chamonix-Zermatt Haute Route, Tour du Soleil, Svalbard/Spitzbergen, Lyngen. June-October so during the summer and autumn I guide in the Alps on various beautiful tours and climbs and offer courses as well for those looking to improve their level to be able to participate on more demanding tours.

Why should I hire a guide?

Well for several reasons but shortly IFMGA mountain guides are educated professionals with extensive experience and knowledge with your best interest at heart while making decisions and who you can count on at all times. That’s the kind of person you want to have with you on the mountains. Just be a great companion back and happy times are a guarantee!

How big groups do you guide?

It depends on the chosen tour and conditions but between 1-6 guests per guide is the norm.
